Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Irfan’s latest medical report has indicated that he does not need surgery for his injured hip and could be a chance for the 2015 World Cup. Irfan’s hairline fracture seems to have healed after six weeks of rehab and he has started training at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, where he was not bowling at full tilt but seemed to be enjoying being back in action.The PCB is organising a month-long summer camp and Irfan will be invited to rebuild his fitness. “He [Irfan] isn’t available immediately for national selection as yet but we have made a plan for him ahead of 2015 World Cup,” Mohammad Akram, the NCA head coach, told ESPNcricinfo. “We are targeting the one-dayers against Australia and New Zealand for him later this year to give him the required tempo.”Irfan, 31, has been sidelined since he injured his hip during the second T20 international against South Africa in Dubai in November 2013. After six weeks of rehab following the hairline fracture, Irfan made a swift return during the domestic Twenty20 Cup in Rawalpindi, but only aggravated the injury, resulting in to more fractures to his hip.Since then, Irfan has been at the NCA, working with doctors on a specialised rehab programme. If he had failed to show enough progress the PCB could have flown him to Australia for surgery.Irfan’s height – 7’1” – made him the tallest person to play Test cricket. He was given a debut in 2010 but could not hold down a spot in the team because of fitness issues. Irfan managed his longest international streak in the UAE in 2013, when he bowled 65.5 overs in two Tests against South Africa and 13 overs in a game against UAE. In the last four years, Irfan played four Tests, 27 one-day internationals and seven T20s.

ويعيش نادي الزمالك أزمة كبيرة بسبب عدم سداد مديونية مقدرة بمبلغ مليون ونصف المليون دولار، لنادي سبورتنج لشبونة البرتغالي يترتب عليها قرار بإيقاف القيد.

وكتب ميدو في تدوينة عبر حسابه الرسمي بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي تويتر: “رد نهائي من سبورتنج لشبونة برفض تقسيط غرامة شيكابالا”.

وأضاف: “كانت هناك محاولات جادة من قبل بعض رجال الأعمال الزمالكاوية لحل أزمة القيد بدفع 50٪ من الغرامة والـ 50٪ المتبقية في شهر ديسمبر ولكن اليوم كان الرد النهائي من سبورتنج برفض فكرة تقسيط الغرامة تماما”.

وأتم: “الحقيقة ماحدش من محبي الزمالك أتأخر لما اتطلب منه مساعدة وفي بعض رجال الاعمال دفعوا مبالغ محترمة لمحاولة حل الأزمة”.

Samit Patel claims not to have any thoughts of an England recall but in this match gave the best impression of the potential that England could call upon in their new era under Peter Moores.Patel breezed his way past fifty on a particularly mediocre final day which brought personal satisfaction for Phil Jaques as he added 95 on the day to reach an unbeaten 150, but which long before his six-and-a-quarter hour stint was over was heading inexorably towards the second tame draw in succession at Taunton.Patel also had a second century in the match laid before him, only to sweep a full delivery from Johann Myburgh and be bowled for 75. But the innings continued a smart run of form that suggests, at 29, he may be approaching his peak. It is only 15 months ago since he last played for England.”I don’t think the door should be shut on Samit,” Mick Newell, the Nottinghamshire director of cricket and new England selector said. “He is a potential international cricketer still. He has been in and around the edges for a number of years. He has to score heavily and he needs his bowling to be of a level where he offers both I think, because of the potential for an allrounder who is a spin bowler rather than a seamer.”He is nearly 30 now, and he’s got to have an opportunity, but he has got to churn out regular scores. He has played very nicely in two innings this year – 90 against Lancashire when it was doing a lot, and the innings here. Taylor was again part of the England Lions touring party in the winter and enjoyed a strong tour of Sri Lanka including a first-class best 242 not out.”Both of them have had a taste, and both of them will feel they want some more,” Newell said. “That’s the whole challenge. If you want some more, you have to show everyone you really are hungry. Someone like Gary Ballance has pushed himself forward with the runs that he has got this season. He’s very mature, and he’s very well organised about how he goes about his practice and training – a pleasure to have in your team. He’s hitting the ball nicely, and I thought he was playing very well in his first innings. He feels he can compete with these guys for that middle order spot that might be going up for grabs.”

Chris Jordan loves nothing more than hurling down a few bouncers, but is less bothered about hurling a few words at the batsmen along with them.He would prefer the more silent-assassin type role and it certainly worked a treat at Old Trafford as he bagged 5 for 29 to inspire England to a 10-wicket win as they bundled out Sri Lanka for 67. Jordan’s figures were the best by an England bowler at Old Trafford and the best for England since Chris Woakes’ 6 for 45 against Australia in 2011.In Durham, Sri Lanka appeared to try and ruffle Jordan with a few words and again at Old Trafford there were a couple of occasions when the experienced Mahela Jayawardene appeared to try to engage him. The most the Sri Lankans got back was a stare, and maybe another bouncer. Jordan sounded quite hopeful they would continue.”That kind of stuff doesn’t faze me,” he said. “If anything it gets me going a little bit more. I try to leave as much as I can on the field if not everything. I’ve always been quite an aggressive performer. Too much talking may distract me from my task, so I try to keep my eye on the prize. When you cross that line you are playing international cricket so you try to play as hard as possible.”After having injury problems earlier in his career, Jordan is now renowned for how he keeps himself in shape and gained a glowing appraisal from David Saker, the fast bowling coach.”He’s just an ultimate professional,” Saker told Sky Sports. “The way he prepares for every game, the way he looks after himself, he’s the ultimate professional. He’s fantastic to work with, he always wants to get better and he is getting better every game. He’s just been fantastic.”England appear to be pushing Jordan into the role of an impact bowler, utilising the pace which has discomforted some of Sri Lanka’s batsman, and he is keen to continue to make full use of the short balls available to him.”That’s something we spoke about so hopefully we can continue throughout the series. I want to be able to hit teams hard and use the short ball wisely because you are allowed two in an over. So with the extra man inside the circle I’m sure if the guys can get it up there they will try their best to use all two.”It was a simple decision for Man of the Match, as it was at The Oval when he played a central role in England’s victory at the start of the series. On that occasion it was his innings of 38 off 13 balls that played as much a part as his bowling, but today there was little chance of his batting being needed.England are expected to name their squad for the first Test against Sri Lanka a week on Thursday and only injury will prevent Jordan’s name being it. He was a strong favourite based on his Championship form for Sussex before this series but, even having backed that up, he refuses to let his mind wander.”Today I was concentrating on Old Trafford, now that is done we have to draw a line under that and move onto Lord’s.
