O ano de 2018 foi especial para o torcedor do Fortaleza, que viu o time do coração voltar à elite do futebol nacional. Porém, o sucesso do Leão do Pici não se limitou apenas aos gramados. Fora deles, o clube se estruturou e, hoje, colhe os frutos do que construiu nos últimos meses.

Parte deste processo passa pelas mãos de Marcelo Paz, atual presidente do Fortaleza. Após assumir o cargo em novembro de 2017, o dirigente buscou implementar a sua filosofia e profissionalizar o clube como um todo. O resultado imediato foi o título do Campeonato Brasileiro da Série B em 2018 e o retorno à primeira divisão, lugar que o clube Tricolor não frequentava desde 2006.

A conquista não poderia vir em melhor momento: o ano do centenário do clube. E a boa fase dentro das quatro linhas se estendeu para 2019. Atualmente, o time comandado por Rogério Ceni está há nove partidas sem perder, o que garantiu a classificação para a final do Campeonato Cearense e para as semifinais da Copa do Nordeste.

– O bom momento dentro de campo faz parte de uma soma de fatores: a gestão e a divisão de bons profissionais remunerados dentro da diretoria; a blindagem do futebol, que não é usado como instrumento político no clube ou alvo de pressão de conselheiros; além da manutenção do trabalho e da filosofia para saber ‘segurar a onda’ em momentos difíceis – afirma Marcelo Paz.

O presidente tricolor promoveu a profissionalização dos departamentos, além da remuneração de dirigentes que na opinião dele “é um passo importante para ter uma gestão cada vez mais profissional”.

Outro acerto da diretoria do Fortaleza foi a contratação do ex-goleiro e ídolo do São Paulo, Rogério Ceni, para o cargo de técnico. Além dos resultados do time, fora de campo o “Efeito Ceni” é visível. Um exemplo disso é o aumento no número de sócios, que passaram de pouco mais de 7 mil no fim de 2017 para 28 mil nos dias de hoje.

Paz afirma que a permanência de Ceni contribui para o desenvolvimento do projeto.

– Além da manutenção de boa parte dos jogadores que fizeram sucesso em 2018, da comissão técnica e da filosofia de trabalho e, obviamente, do Rogério Ceni, conseguimos uma melhora de estrutura, que é uma busca permanente da nossa diretoria.

O dirigente se refere ao investimento feito sobre o estádio do Pici que está sendo transformado num moderno CT, inspirado em clubes como Palmeiras, São Paulo e Grêmio.

Apesar do bom momento, Paz sabe que boa parte do sucesso da gestão depende de títulos.

– Estamos em uma fase em que precisamos confirmar o bom momento, pois esse só se consolida com títulos. Sabemos que o que foi construído até aqui tem importância e peso, mas só vai ter um valor maior ainda com conquistas.

Sendo assim, o Fortaleza enfrentará o Santa Cruz, na semifinal da Copa do Nordeste em data a ser definida. O Leão do Pici conhecerá o seu adversário na decisão do Campeonato Cearense nesta quarta-feira, no confronto entre Ceará e Floresta. O retorno para a Série A do Brasileirão já está marcado para o dia 28 de abril, às 19h, no Allianz Parque, diante do Palmeiras.

He has been proved right.With minimal time to adapt to South African surfaces, India’s batsmen have yet to present the technique required to prosper against pace and short-pitched bowling while their seamers have yet to get a measure of the lengths required of them. Mohammed Shami was again the most impressive of the pack, using the slower bouncer and yorker to good effect but even with turn on offer, India could not stop Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock, who both scored centuries.They paced their partnership to perfection, starting fairly slowly, milking the bowling, scoring with ease and then accelerating at the right times. In the process, Amla became the fastest to 4,000 ODI runs, achieving the feat in 81 innings, seven quicker than Viv Richards. De Kock’s hundred made him only the third South African, after Amla and Herschelle Gibbs, to score back-to-back centuries in ODIs, and maintained his 100% conversion rate of fifties into hundreds at this level.De Kock offered one chance early on. He was on 13 when he edged off Shami but the ball fell short R Ashwin at first slip. Apart from that, de Kock and Amla’s partnership was flawless. They scored all around the field and by the 11th over, Dhoni was already searching for options.He introduced spin but Ashwin and Suresh Raina posed little threat. He swept Ashwin, hoping to clear square leg, but found Rohit Sharma to end his second successive century opening stand with Amla on 194.Given their platform, South Africa chose to send AB de Villiers in at No. 3, instead of Jacques Kallis, but the plan backfired. De Villiers was stumped after stretching forward to hit Ravindra Jadeja down the ground and he became the second wicket to fall in the second Powerplay.It was in that period that India pulled South Africa back. Ravindra Jadeja was the architect of the stranglehold as he spun the ball and varied his lengths cleverly. Between overs 35 and 48, India gave away only 66 runs and dismissed JP Duminy, David Miller and Kallis, who was sent in at No.6.All that unraveled when Ryan McLaren and Vernon Philander took 20 runs off the final over to set up a competitive target. With the fifth ball, he had Dhoni push at one just outside off, de Kock dived to his right and took the catch one-handed to end the Indian challenge.The only thing that made it worse for them was that the heavens closed and they had to bat out the rest of the innings against a South African attack that has been relentless. That India lost their 10th wicket at the same time South Africa had lost their first showed just how differently the two innings had panned out.

Peacocks can be spotted and cranes have flown in from somewhere north, just like teams from Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir, the only ones playing the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals at a neutral venue. No fog here. No haze either. It’s a tranquil setting for a five-day match.J&K’s entry into the knockouts was anything but tranquil. Goa’s win against Andhra on New Year ‘s Day threatened to pip J&K to the second quarterfinal berth but Parvez Rasool and Co worked out their calculations and produced the goods the next day, to beat Goa in a photo finish – by a thousandth of a point.”It’s even more important to build [on the positives] as this is a good Punjab side and then we will be in Pool B next year,” Rasool said. “Everyone’s contributing. All three matches this season had results; in one of them, as many as 35 wickets fell in two days. There is a provision of a sixth day to get an outright result for the quarter-final but it’s hard to see the match lasting that long.

Na noite desta terça-feira (7), Vila Nova e Juventude entraram em campo em partida válida pelo jogo de volta da 4ª fase da Copa do Brasil, no estádio Serra Dourada, em Goiânia.

Após um confronto intenso durante os 90 minutos, ambos os times não conseguiram balançar as redes. Com isso, a decisão da vaga acabou sendo definida nas penalidades, e tendo a equipe de Marquinhos Santos como vencedora pelo placar de 4 a 3.

Primeiro tempo

Mesmo jogando com grande apoio da torcida que, por sua vez, marcava boa presença nas arquibancadas, o Vila Nova tentou iniciar o jogo colocando pressão no Juventude. Antes mesmo de completar 10 minutos no relógio, o atacante Gustavo, de letra, acabou acertando a trave do goleiro Marcelo Carné, para desespero do camisa 7.

Seguido melhor no jogo, o Tigre mantinha a pressão até meados dos 20 minutos. No entanto, todas as chances criadas pelos donos da casa acabaram não surtindo efeito para alívio do time gaúcho.

Passado os sustos, aos poucos o Juventude foi se animando em campo, mas ainda de forma tímida. Em alguns chutes de fora da área com Vidal e Moisés Gaúcho, o goleiro Rafael Santos pouco foi exigido, mas cobrou atenção de seu sistema defensivo.

Nos últimos 15 minutos, o jogo passou a ficar mais equilibrado. Com as duas equipes indo ao ataque a todo momento, o Juventude ainda teve um gol olímpico anulado aos 38, com o juiz marcando uma falta sobre o goleiro do Tigre, e minutos depois, já nos acréscimos, o volante João Paulo deu trabalho a Rafael em uma bela cobrança de falta, sendo esse o último lance do primeiro tempo.

Segundo tempo

No retorno para a etapa final, apenas o técnico Eduardo Baptista, do Vila Nova, resolveu mudar. Em uma troca de volantes, Neto Moura acabou deixando seu lugar para Ramon.

Logo nos 10 minutos iniciais, diferente de como aconteceu no primeiro tempo, goianos e gaúchos mostraram que não estavam dispostos a dar prioridade em seus respectivos sistemas defensivos. Sendo assim, com um chance para cada lado, ambos os goleiros sabiam que não teriam vida fácil em campo.

Até os 20 minutos, o confronto ainda seguia muito movimentado. Com isso, tentando manter seu poder ofensivo em alta, novamente o técnico Eduardo Baptista recuou aos seus suplentes, tirando Gustavo Silva e colocando seu lugar Juninho.

Após a alteração, o Tigre passou a comandar mais as ações. A cada chegada do time da casa, a torcida mostrava-se confiante em tirar o grito de gol da garganta, mas a equipe gaúcha mantinha-se atenta a todos os movimentos adversários tirando a bola do jeito que dava.

O tempo foi passando, e o técnico Marquinhos Santos não estava disposto a assistir a pressão do Vila. Com isso, Lennon acabou saindo para a entrada de Bruno Alves, aumentando seu poder ofensivo.

Mesmo com a troca, pouco mudou o panorama do confronto. Para piorar a situação do Juventude, o lateral-direito Vidal saiu, aparentando estar com dores na perna, para a entrada de Sananduva. Já por parte do Vila, Eduardo optou pela entrada do experiente meia Danilo, tirando de campo seu atacante Rafael Silva.

Nos últimos minutos de confronto, o Tigre era mais efusivo nas tentativas de finalização. Porém, mesmo com as chances criadas, o juiz acabou apitando o final do jogo, com a definição da vaga nas oitavas indo para os pênaltis.

In preparation for the Test series against Australia that starts on February 12, Graeme Smith will not feature for Cape Cobras for the remainder of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge. Cobras will also rest JP Duminy for tonight’s match against Dolphins in Paarl.”JP will have a break on Friday, and Graeme has been pulled out of the tournament altogether because his ankle flared up,” Cobras coach Paul Adams told . “It’s a precaution, and he’ll also be preparing for the Test series (against Australia in February).”Cobras will continue to rotate the Test players in their squad, with Duminy slated to return for their final two matches of the tournament.
