É onde me sinto muito bem.

Pensando agora principalmente no Bahia, vamos jogo a jogo.

West Ham fans flock to Jesse Lingard claim

Flocking to Twitter, many West Ham United fans have been left buzzing after an update involving transfer target and Manchester United star Jesse Lingard.

The 28-year-old, who thrived on loan at the London Stadium over the second half of 2020/21, has recently been linked with a potential return to West Ham in January.

This is despite him opting against a return to the English capital on a permanent deal last summer, instead choosing to fight for his place under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at his parent club.

Fast forward to the present and Lingard is back to being a bit-part player at Old Trafford as reports claim that Manchester United could now cut him loose mid-season at a cheaper £15m price (The Sun).

Speaking on the West Ham Way Podcast (via This is Futbol), ExWHUemployee then claimed that the Irons could now move again for the 28-year-old in January amid his situation, while Football Insider say that the Hammers are set to join the race along with Newcastle and Everton.

In another update, Eurosport reporter Dean Jones has shared some encouraging news. According to his information, the England international now ‘favours a return’ to West Ham above other clubs partly due to their form both domestically and abroad. Jones added that manager David Moyes could now turn to Lingard as he eyes winter reinforcements.

Flocking to this news, many Irons supporters have been left buzzing, and it’s little wonder going by his form for them last season. talkSPORT pundit Adrian Durham’s comments back in April are a fine example, describing the Red Devils ace as ‘phenomenal’ and calling him the Premier League’s ‘best player on current form’ at the time.

Check out some of the best verdicts from West Ham fans below, with Lingard now open to signing.

Northants can't play in Champions League – Modi

English county have three ICL players in its ranks

Cricinfo staff12-Aug-2009Northamptonshire will not be allowed to take part in the Champions League even if they qualify from England’s domestic Twenty20 tournament because the side contains three players associated with the unauthorised Indian Cricket League (ICL), league chairman Lalit Modi has said. The two county teams making the final of the Twenty20 Cup were to be England’s representatives at the Champions League. Northamptonshire, whose squad has two players – Nicky Boje and Andrew Hall – who have not severed ties with the ICL, take on Sussex in the semi-final of the Twenty20 Cup on August 15, with the final later that day.”Champions League rules are very clear that no team with players connected to any unauthorised cricket can be a part of it,” Modi said. “Northants will be disqualified from the league if they enter the final (of England domestic T20 cricket) and there would be a vacant slot.”However, he ruled out the participation of a fourth Indian franchise as a replacement should the slot open up. “There won’t be a fourth Indian team. There also won’t be another team from Australia or South Africa (if the need arises),” he said. “We have a solution (to fill up the slot).”India has three teams – reigning IPL champions Deccan Chargers, runners-up Bangalore Royal Challengers and the Delhi Daredevils – while joint founding boards Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa have two each in the fray, as does the ECB.Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi will host the inaugural Champions League between October 8 and 23.

Everton: Whelan in favour of Barkley return

Noel Whelan says Everton could benefit from bringing a re-energised Ross Barkley back to Goodison Park.

The lowdown

TEAMtalk reported last week that the Blues were keen on signing Barkley on loan in January.

This comes as Chelsea consider whether to sanction a mid-season move for the 27-year-old.

Newcastle United were said to be ‘leading the chase’, with Leeds United also in the running.

Barkley, who spent last season at Aston Villa, has made eight appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this term.

Thomas Tuchel selected him in the starting line-up for the draw with Burnley prior to the international break.

Barkley apparently earns £5million a year at Stamford Bridge, which equates to about £95,000 per week.

The latest

Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan said he could envisage Barkley donning the Toffees’ shirt once again.

He’s impressed by the desire Barkley has shown in his outings for Chelsea of late and feels he could rediscover his best form at Everton.

“I think that would be a good signing and I can see it happening,” he said.

“We’re seeing a different Ross Barkley right now to the one we saw at Aston Villa last season – he’s got his mojo back.

“He’s got that hunger; he wants to impress when he comes off the bench at Chelsea – he’s pressing and hustling the opposition really well.

“He’s also capable of getting into that final third and causing teams problems in there, as well.

“I was disappointed with his performances at Aston Villa, he had a real opportunity to make the grade there and step into that Grealish-shaped hole this season.

“He’s not hit the heights of his potential, but he could get back to his best back at Everton.”

The verdict

Barkley played 179 games in his first spell at Everton, scoring 27 goals and providing 28 assists (via Transfermarkt).

But the manner of exit in January 2018 upset some supporters, and so a return would probably generate a mixed reaction.

Indeed, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine Goodison turning on Barkley fairly quickly if his form dipped.

Perhaps it’s better for both parties to consider that chapter closed.

Time to prove we are the best – de Villiers

AB de Villiers believes the ICC Champions Trophy presents South Africa with the “ideal opportunity” to prove they are the best in the world

AB de Villiers is confident his team will make amends for its relatively disappointing record in ICC tournaments•Associated Press

AB de Villiers believes the ICC Champions Trophy presents South Africa with an “ideal opportunity” to prove they are the best in the world. South Africa are currently No.1 in the ICC ODI rankings but their record in ICC tournaments has been below expectations, having only emerged triumphant in the inaugural Champions Trophy in 1998. They’ve reached the semi-finals of the competition each time except in 2004, appeared three times in the final four of the World Cup, qualified for the semis of the ICC World Twenty20 this year and were knocked out in the Super Six round of the same tournament at home in 2007. But de Villiers was confident his team would go the extra mile this time around.”We came short a few times, but there are many players in the team who are eager to improve,” he told . “We believe we are the best team in the world and now is a good chance to prove that. It’s the ideal opportunity.”South Africa have hosted two ICC tournaments at home and have disappointed each time, but are training rigorously for the Champions Trophy which commences on September 22. They are currently in Potchefstroom, attending a training camp, and de Villiers admitted it’s the hardest they’ve been made to work.”It’s the hardest I have trained with this team,” he said. “We run three or four times every day, attend net sessions, sweat in the gym and work on our fitness in the pool.”South Africa have played ten ODIs this year, all against Australia, winning seven and losing three. They’ve won both the ODI series against them, home and away, but will be playing their first ODI after a gap of more than four months. de Villiers said the intense preparation, which includes practice matches, was adequate for gearing up for the Champions Trophy. “We have not played much cricket in recent times, but have a few training games behind us,” he said. “I believe we are all professional enough to gear ourselves mentally for the tournament.”One of the practice games de Villiers was referring to took place in Potchefstroom on September 3, with Johan Botha’s XI beating Jacques Kallis’ XI. JP Duminy was the star, making 68 in 78 balls with four boundaries. The match was a high-scoring encounter with both teams managing over 270, and coach Mickey Arthur said he was encouraged by the batting performances on a pitch that wasn’t too favourable. “The pitch was very slow which did not make conditions easy for the batsmen,” he said. “I was very impressed with all our senior batsmen. Duminy looked as though he had never stopped playing from last season, AB de Villiers showed excellent intensity and Boucher confirmed what an outstanding power hitter he can be.”Arthur expected the tracks for the tournament to be similar. “Generally speaking I was very happy with what we got out of this game,” he said. “The fact that we played on a slow pitch is no bad thing. I expect the pitches to be on the slow side for the start of the Champions’ Trophy as it is being played very early in the season and we will get more of the same for other upcoming tournaments such as next year’s ICC World Twenty20 in the Caribbean and the 2011 World Cup in the subcontinent.”

Erik Ten Hag interested in Man United job

Manchester United confirmed the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday morning, after over three years in charge at Old Trafford.

In a statement, the Manchester United board thanked Ole and outlined their intentions moving forward;

“Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision.

“Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.”

The dismissal follows an embarrassing result for the Red Devils that saw them lose 4-1 to Watford on Saturday afternoon, which was seemingly the final nail in the coffin for the Norwegian manager, after an emergency meeting was held in the hours following the game, eventually leading to the club’s announcement.

Many names have been thrown into the mix for the highly speculated Manchester United manager job, and although the initial position to be filled is for an interim manager to take over for the next six months, moves are being made to find the right long term manager to lead them into the 2022/23 season.

One journalist has dropped a huge development on one particular popular candidate for the long term position next summer.

Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth claimed;

“It’s my information that Ajax simply wouldn’t entertain releasing a manager mid-season. However, I’ve been told that Erik ten Hag would 100% be interested in the Manchester United job in the summer. His contract runs out in the summer of 2023.”

Fans will surely be buzzing with this revelation, as Erik Ten Hag is said to be one of the ‘most promising’ managers in world football right now.

The 51-year-old Ajax boss has led the Dutch side to two league titles and to their first Champions League semi-final since 1997 beating Real Madrid and Juventus on their way.

He also has connections to a Manchester United player who, ironically, scored the final goal for the side against Watford.

Ten Hag developed Donny Van De Beek into the player that scored 41 goals and 34 assists for Ajax, before making his move to Manchester United.

The 24-year-old midfielder would clearly welcome Ten Hag with open arms after having a turbulent time so far at Old Trafford with not being able to get into the team and would hope that his presence could boost his game time, and ultimately make him more of a key player in the starting team.

With that in mind, everyone associated with the 20-time English champions would surely be elated to see him arrive at the club next summer.

Manchester United are set to face Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday with Michael Carrick leading the team in their must-win in Spain.
